Hike in Kathmandu

Yesterday we went on a 4 hour hike from our house into the mountains. We walked through small villages and saw the life of the daily farmer. It’s depressing to see the horrible living arrangements they have but the towns we walked through were breathtaking. We also got to witness the sacrificing of a chicken at a local temple, it wasn’t the most beautiful sight but still quite an experience. We even had a pack of local dogs follow us up the mountain and one dog followed us for nearly 2 hours before finally running off, his owner won’t be very happy.

I’ll let the beautiful pictures do the rest of the talking.

I am extending my time here in Nepal and will be here for a total of 6 weeks instead of 4. During the two extra weeks I will spend 5 days trekking in the mountains of Pokhara, a city about 8 hours away, and the other week will be spent in Chitwan doing an adventure week full of rafting, camping and jungle adventures. After the next two weeks, I will then be off to the monastery for my final three weeks. I leave for my trek tomorrow and I may not have access to internet, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, so this may be my last post for while.
